Summer Vacations
Wisconsin Dells MI Dutch Village We took a couple of fun vacations this summer. In June we traveled to the Wisconsin Dells with the Sieves. And in July we went to Michigan to see the Klomps and to celebrate Joel's high school graduation.

Ball ... Ball ... Ball
We spent a good part of our summer at the ball field. Joe tried T-ball for the first time this year. It was fun to watch the young ones who sometimes are more interested in the dirt and bugs than the balls and bases. Annette and Shelby played softball on Little Canada teams. Shelby had fun in her first year trying to hit a pitched ball. They made terrific progress by the end of the season. Annette's team had a really good year and even won the end of season tournament.

Summer Fun
Backyard Fun Swinging St Paul Saints Our summer fun included lots of time in the backyard. The ball swing is always a favorite. We moved our little pool to the end of the slide for a refreshing dip. The kids had fun teaming up on the glider swing. We had fun on our annual evening at the Saint Paul Saints game with the Target gang. Once we got our rally flags they came back to win 12 to 3.
Vacation Bible School
VBS Parade VBS Group A good part of Cindy's summer was consumed with her latest volunteer project. She was the director of Saint John's new summer children's program: Vacation Bible School. It was a week long adventure for elementary age kids which took a full year of planning and preparation. Cindy had a wonderful group of women working on the planning committee with her. We had a good time promoting the event, organizing the volunteers, raising money, planning all the activities. Some of us walked in the Canadian Days parade to promote Vacation Bible School. When the event finally arrived we all had a tremendous amount of fun.

Boots Family Visit
Line 'em Up Stack 'em Up And no summer would be complete without a visit from the Boots family. The kids are now 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 years old. This year they came up so they could attend Vacation Bible School with us. Sue & Walker helped out as volunteers and Devon and Carson got to attend as students. We all had a GREAT time.
